Hippo | Feel The Housepower

The business problem

Hippo is a new player in the home insurance game with a new approach to better protect your home. Rather than showing up after disaster strikes Hippo prefers to prevent the claim in the first place. In a time when insurance advertising has become increasingly focused on humor, Hippo wanted to use a new tone to set themselves apart. See they didn’t think protecting your home was a laughing matter. Our challenge was to boost awareness for Hippo using a new playbook for insurance advertising.

The creative solution

We focused on how proactive home insurance protection would make Hippo customers feel. The confidence knowing that they've got their home totally under control and protected. We coined a new term to encapsulate that feeling, Housepower. And when a Hippo homeowner is fully feeling their Housepower, they’re prepared to stand up to anything, even the horsemen of the apocalypse. We created a new look and voice for the brand and used it to launch the brand with an OOH and TV campaign.
